Pastoral Staff

Rev. Jason Soltysiak

 

Rev. Jason Soltysiak is one of two third-generation priests in the Polish National Catholic Church.  His father, the Very Rev. Joseph Soltysiak, is a priest in the New England area.  His mother Janice is mother to Anthony Joseph, (Father) Jason, Andrew, and Nicholas.

Father Jason grew up in various PNC parishes throughout New England, including Holy Name of Jesus parish in South Deerfield, MA; Holy Saviour parish in Union City, CT; and St. Joseph parish in Westfield, MA.  It was his time at St. Joseph’s that he heard the call to follow Christ to study for Ordination to the Holy Priesthood.

Father Jason graduated from Westfield High School in 2000.  He obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Professional and Technical Writing with minors in English & Communication from the University of Hartford in 2004.  He was able to do his senior internship with the PNCC official organ, the Rola Boża, under the guidance of the now Prime Bishop, Most Rev. Anthony Mikovsky.

Father Jason was elevated to Cleric in May 2005, Sub-deacon in January 2006, Deacon in May 2006, and was Ordained to the Priesthood by Most Rev. Robert Nemkovich on January 24, 2007.  His first Solemn High Mass was celebrated at St. Joseph's in Westfield before packed pews on January 28, 2007. He served as assistant pastor and then associate pastor of Saint Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Cathedral in Scranton, PA from January 28, 2007 until November 10, 2013. 

He then assumed the pastorate of Saint Mary’s in Parma, OH.  He was installed as pastor by Very Rev. Jaroslaw Nowak on February 1, 2014. 

Father Jason serves as a director on the United Y.M.S. of R. Board as well as serving as a member of the National School of Christian Living Committee and National Commission on Liturgy.  He is married to his wife Natalie and they have one son, Brady Paul, born in November of 2017.  Rumor has it that he is a good boy.  They are also joined by their cats of 10 years, Frankie and Batman and their cat of 9 years, Calbert.
